1. Merry Morgan | @merry_tattooer
Located: Imperial Tattoo Company | Bath, Somerset
Merry Morgan’s feed had me at one click. I discovered his work through the @blackworkers Instagram and he instantly became a favourite. To then discover he’s only located an hour away has given me a lot of hope to one day get some ink from him, I just need to decide what I want to get first but I’ll likely be keeping an eye on any flash he posts as I adore his designs.
2. Brando Chiesa | @brandochiesa
I discovered Brando Chiesa recently, I’m not too sure how I didn’t see his work sooner as he seems to have a pretty huge following. As soon as I clicked on his feed I fell in love with the bright, bold, colours. The colour schema, composition and dark black shading in the background are my favourite parts of his work. I’m not particularly keen on the Japanese elements and it’s something I’ve never particularly been interested in but adore his animals, and overall style.
3. Chelsea Gilpin | @lunatattooing
Located: Ragnarok Tattoo | Kingsbridge
I started following Chelsea when she was still an apprentice and she’s only gotten better. Her designs are super unique and adorable, and I particularly adore her ornamental/mandala pieces. She also creates incredible prints and has one of the most pleasing tattoo portfolios I’ve ever seen.
4. Carla Evelyn | @carlatattoos
Located: Paper Moon Tattoo Collective | Australia
Typically my eye is drawn to black and grey pieces when it comes to tattoos, but occasionally I come across artists that do pretty, colourful designs that I love. Carla Evelyn is one of these people, and she had me following her as soon as I spotted this Aku-Aku mask. Her designs are unique, cute and creative and you should definitely check her out.
5. Anrijs Straume | @anrijsstraume
Located: Bold As Brass Tattoo Company | Liverpool
While not a recently discovered artist, I have grown to love Anrijs’ style even more lately. I’ve been really into the dark heavy blacks and his style of script. I am dying to get tattooed by him and I wish he could start my sleeve. If I was to ever get a portrait tattoo, he’d definitely be the one I’d go to.
4. Moira Ramone | @moira.ramone
Located: 25 to life | Netherlands
Moira is one of my favourite traditional tattoo artists that I’ve discovered recently. Her feed brings me a lot of inspiration as I have been craving traditional pieces a lot recently. Her pieces stick to traditional themes while adding her own creative flare, whether it’s colour or black & grey.
